I was the kid who always chose to do the video project instead of the book report. I anchored the morning announcements and produced the high school’s weekly variety show. In college I took on every role I could going from manning cameras for live hockey broadcasts, to writing and directing a satirical news show, to operating and assisting camera on short films and music videos. Video was once the future of communication and it’s now the standard. I still get a kick out of making movies and bringing a little movie magic to the mundane.
Here’s some of my recent work:
Listening.
Collaborating with other creatives always leads to interesting results. This song came from friends putting their heads together to make something personal, we took that same approach to the video. Ave had an idea for what she wanted as the music video and I only helped bring those images to life. Very fun process working on this one from start to finish.
Real Love.
Dance is a very expressive medium and one that I really enjoyed capturing. This video was made with Carly DiCola as a passion piece and work of self expression. Lots of fun camera work and imagery in this one.
Rock Candy Holds
Rock Candy produces some of the top tier climbing holds in the industry. The team at Rock Candy supplied Iron City Boulders with their latest line of Wave Runner holds to test and produce a short commercial video to promote the new line.
Spagargus
Jazz lends itself to liberal interpretations, whether it’s in name or visual representation. This video came from the idea of naming the song after food items and creating a video to go along with it. Spaghetti with asparagus is where this got its name and the video came quite naturally. This was very fun to direct, shoot and edit.
College Ceramic Art Ad
My personal sense of humor is somewhere close to the stylings of Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job. Meaning it’s usually weird and featuring purposefully bad special effects. I made this video in an attempt to sell my college ceramic art…to little avail. But it made for a fun video that still makes me laugh.
